Good morning anglers! Some info and feedback on the next one while its fresh in my mind. If anyone has any feedback, good or bad related to the event, or comments below, feel free to post here and/or email me.
1. I plan on filing for next year very soon. While I love these dates in March with how great the bite is, I am looking at like the end of May. (???) March and April have a ton of events.
2. Expect a mandatory meeting for the next one, likely the Friday before the event. This will be used to get all the paperwork done and go over a few things. This will also be the last chance to enter the event. I want to get away from the “AM check in” and go straight to boat checks and get on the water.
3. With that, expect an off limits time period on that Friday for both lakes. IE off the lake at 2PM, etc…
4. Expect a little more control on the launch. Everyone will go out single file and one side only. This also plays into capturing better launch video.
5. Expect a LOT more stuff in the raffle.
6. For the next event, I will publish a hard time for awards as opposed to “immediately after weigh in”. I apologize for those that missed the raffle. I will ensure ample time is built in.
7. Weigh in – I put this out but it was a struggle to keep everyone doing it. When you come up to the scale area you should have your mesh bag with your fish inside, inside your water bag. Set that in the crate and we go from there. A lot of fish sat out of water that did not need to be while we weighed big fish. This also prevented me from capturing photos, at the scale, with the big fish “official weight” displayed. We will revisit this again at the next one.
8. Just found out today that someone did not agree with the weight captured (did not match their scale out on the water) I can tell you everyone was weighed in the same. It’s your money and YOUR event. If you do not agree with the weight provided, I have no issue with doing ONE re-weigh showing a zero and so forth. But again, I use a VERY high end scale and everyone is weighed in the same. If others feel they experienced this, email me.
Thanks!
