During the 2023 season, ABA Nevada introduced a special side pot to help support Cody Steckel in his pursuit of fishing the Bassmaster Opens in 2024 — a critical step toward earning a spot on the Bassmaster Elite Series. Thanks to the generosity of the ABA Nevada anglers, an impressive $3,000 was raised to assist with travel and expenses for Cody’s journey back East.

Cody and his dad, Mike, are two of the most genuine and giving people you'll ever meet. Whether it’s pulling over to help a stranger on the side of the road or driving across town to help install a trolling motor, these guys don’t know how to say "no" — and they wouldn’t want to.

Recently, Mike and Cody became licensed Master Guides, and they’ve been spending several days a week guiding on Lake Mead and Lake Mohave — targeting both stripers and bass. These guys are always on the fish, so if you’re heading out with them, expect to catch!
